Osteopathy
Osteopathy is an autonomous primary health care system, which is based on differential diagnosis as well as treatment of various pathologies and health prevention, without the use of drugs or surgery.
Osteopathy emphasizes its action centered on the patient, rather than the conventional system centered on the disease. The Osteopathic profession is a distinct health profession, with a higher education and specific clinical training. Osteopathy uses several manual therapeutic techniques among them the manipulation of the musculoskeletal system (bones, muscles and, joints) to help in the treatment of diseases.
It is considered one of the disciplines of alternative medicine, or unconventional therapy, since its philosophical principles are different from those of conventional medicine. Treatments use a holistic approach to health, considering that the body's ability to recover can be increased by stimulating joints. In practice, osteopathy treatments are focused on back, neck and other joint pain.
